During the last three days, 86 children were evacuated from Kostyantynivka and adjacent territories of Donetsk region due to the escalation of hostilities. National Police reported, that families with children are taken away in armored vehicles from areas located less than 10 km from the front line due to regular attacks by Russian troops, who bombard the city with artillery and drones.
In particular, over the last week, one death and 11 injuries among civilians were recorded in Kostyantynivka. Residents living in the immediate vicinity of the front are actively looking for safer places to live, but many families are still staying put. Before the evacuation, 2,129 children lived in the community.
To organize the evacuation, the maximum possible resources of the police were involved, and together with the State Service for Emergency Situations, three mobile groups were created, which actively go around the territories, warning local residents about the need to leave. Foot patrols specially visit addresses where families with children live, offering them help in evacuation.
