The Ministry of Reintegration named the number of displaced persons in Ukraine (video)

Head of the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, revealed data on the number of immigrants in Ukraine. She stated that there are 4.6 million people living in Ukraine who have received the status of internally displaced persons in the country.
However, unfortunately, not all of them receive financial assistance. Currently, only 1.5 million displaced people receive financial assistance from the state.
This situation is a consequence of the introduction of certain changes in the legislation last year. Persons who have left the territory of Ukraine and live abroad lose their status as immigrants. In addition, those who return to their homes also lose this status.
Iryna Vereshchuk expressed her misunderstanding regarding the significant number of evacuees from the war zone. For example, 3,500 local residents left Sumy Oblast, where the evacuation continues, in May, and 6,500 moved from settlements adjacent to Kharkiv.
One of the main problems faced by immigrants is employment. Therefore, the authorities are actively considering the issue of creating vacancies with free accommodation for this category of citizens.
Details on the procedure for deregistration of internally displaced persons will be published in government documents.
