The new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced large-scale reforms

On December 13, the new commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, announced about the start of a large-scale reform of the unit. The changes are aimed at updating approaches to military training and improving the attitude towards personnel.

“Today, the Ground Forces need changes, new energy of soldiers and a modern approach to the development of their capabilities. First of all, in the attitude towards people. Human dignity and high-quality training of personnel are in the focus of my attention.” – he noted.

To achieve these goals, educational programs will be updated and educational centers will be reformatted. This will make it possible to provide faster and at the same time high-quality training adapted to the needs of the front. The major general emphasized that the combat-experienced sergeant corps will play a key role in the training of infantrymen.

“The emphasis in these changes will be on the principles of military leadership and knowledge of technology. Without such skills, it is impossible to establish control over the chaos of battle, and now this is one of the main goals for changing the situation at the front.”, Drapaty emphasized.

He also emphasized that in order to be ready for new security challenges, a transparent recruitment model with total intolerance to corruption will be implemented.
