In Zhytomyr Oblast, law enforcement officers detained two people on suspicion of carrying out a terrorist attack near the administrative building of the Berdychiv district TCC and SP. According to the investigation, it is about a 41-year-old native of Donetsk region, who lived in Kyiv, and a 23-year-old resident of Berdychev. “On December 24, 2024, around 3:30 p.m., the suspects detonated explosives near the administration building of the Berdychiv district TCC and joint venture. Fortunately, none of the personnel and civilians were injured.” – says the message.
As the investigation established, the suspect made an explosive device filled with metal balls, placing it in a food container. The man, having received explosives, left them under the door of the military administration and detonated them remotely.
According to preliminary information, the organizers received instructions through a Telegram channel associated with curators from Russia. The woman made the explosive device according to the provided instructions, and the man delivered it to the detonation site. An electric detonator controlled via a mobile phone was used for remote detonation. In addition, the suspect installed a hidden camera that broadcast the explosion in real time.
The man was detained two hours after the explosion, when he was trying to return to Kyiv by regular bus. The woman was detained shortly after him. An investigation is currently underway to establish all the details of the crime.
