The permission of the US and its allies of the Armed Forces to attack the territory of the Russian Federation has a great impact: CNN

Kyiv's partners were influenced by the probability of the repeated occupation of Kharkiv region by the Russians.

The recent decision by the United States and other allies to allow Ukraine to use Western weapons for strikes inside Russia had a significant impact, a senior officer of the Security Service of Ukraine with the call sign “Banker” said in interview CNN.

He noted that thanks to this, his team was able to destroy targets inside Russia, which contributed to successful counterattacks.

“The Russian military can no longer feel impunity and security”, – emphasized the officer.

The publication reports that after long delays due to shortages of ammunition and manpower, Kyiv has finally been able to take full advantage of Western military aid, which began arriving last month. Soldiers on the front lines say the shipments are making a difference, especially with the ability to use the arsenal to strike across the border.

“We see the impact of this aid every day. Artillery, long-range multiple-launch rocket systems with different types of ammunition – all this changes the picture on the battlefield. We are deploying the most effective weapons systems where the Russians are trying to break through our defense lines, and it is noticeable that their advance is slowing down”, – said Ivan, an officer of the 148th artillery brigade.

The mass media also notes that the threat of re-occupation by Russia of part of the Kharkiv region convinced key allies of Ukraine, including the United States, to lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons. This made it possible for Kyiv to strike key objects on the territory of Russia.

“Ukraine began using HIMARS to strike targets in the Belgorod region, which forced the Russians to move their S-300 systems further, so that Kharkiv is now out of range of these systems”, – noted Konrad Muzyka, an independent defense analyst and director of Rochan Consulting.
