Naftogaz received critical energy equipment from the Norwegian government

Naftogaz Group received critical energy equipment from the Norwegian government in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). About this it is said on the company’s website.

In Kyiv, an official handover of the equipment took place, certificates for which were received by the head of Naftogaz Roman Chumak and the head of Ukrgazvydobuvanny JSC Serhiy Lagno. According to the information, Naftogaz of Ukraine received 16 gas piston generator sets with a total capacity of 150 MW. They will provide backup power and heat for critical infrastructure and residential areas.

“This will significantly strengthen the energy security of two large cities and provide more than 500,000 residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region with electricity and heat during the next heating season.”, – noted Chumak.

JSC “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” received equipment for increasing natural gas production, which is a critically important element of the state’s energy security.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espen Bart Eide, whose words are given in the release, emphasized that the provided equipment is not only a short-term solution, but also a strategic investment in a more stable and secure energy future of Ukraine.

“We understand the critical role of reliable energy in rebuilding communities and fostering economic revitalization, and we are committed to supporting Ukraine as it overcomes these challenges. We are confident that this investment will make a significant contribution to building a more prosperous and secure Ukraine.” he commented.

Ukrenergo also received help with the delivery of two 330 kV autotransformers with a capacity of 200 MVA, which will contribute to increasing the stability and reliability of the Ukrainian energy system.

Permanent representative of UNDP in Ukraine Jako Silje emphasized that UNDP is proud to partner with Norway in the supply of this important equipment, which, according to him, will significantly affect the lives of millions of Ukrainians.

Naftogaz added that the Norwegian government and UNDP are closely cooperating in key areas: the supply of backup generators, SPPs and AC generators, support of civil infrastructure in Odesa, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Lviv, as well as ensuring stable energy and heat supply for schools, hospitals and critical facilities.
