The President of Turkey opposed strikes on Russia with ATACMS

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed disagreement with the US decision to allow Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles for strikes on Russian territory.
He announced his position at a press conference after the G 20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, answering journalists’ questions Sky News.
Asked if he approves of US actions that could lead to escalation with Moscow, including the risk of a nuclear confrontation, Erdogan replied:
“We can never say that war with nuclear weapons can lead to anything positive”.
He also noted that Ukraine’s use of such missiles demonstrates the possible serious consequences of these actions, adding that there is very little positive in such a development.
Officially, the USA has not yet confirmed permission to use ATACMS for strikes on Russian territory. At the same time, there were non-public reports about the first such attack on weapons warehouses in Russia.
