The SBI exposed the heads of Ukrproftur and the Federation of Trade Unions on the scheme of misappropriation of state property
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, exposed the illegal activities of the management of PrJSC “Ukrproftur” and officials of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. It is about the organization of the scheme of illegal alienation of the property of state-owned trade union organizations in the amount of more than 20 million hryvnias. “In the course of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that during 2016-2018, the accused concluded four fictitious contracts for the purchase and sale of real estate in the city of Rivne. The total estimated value of these objects was more than 20 million hryvnias. For example, the premises of one of the restaurants were sold at an undervalued price of only 4.1 million hryvnias. The new owners became relatives of one of the managers of Ukrproftur”. – reports the press service of the DBR.
According to available information, the institution served representatives of law enforcement structures and local authorities with discounts of more than 20%, which allowed the organizers of the scheme to establish personal contacts and avoid inspections. As part of the investigation, SBI employees seized documents and electronic media that confirm illegal operations.
Five persons were notified of suspicion under part. 1 Art. 255 (creation, management and participation in a criminal organization), ch. 5th century 191 (appropriation or embezzlement of property in particularly large amounts) and ch. 3 Art. 209 (legalization of criminally obtained property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Four suspects have already been detained. In the near future, a petition will be submitted to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of a bail in the amount of 100 million hryvnias. The investigation continues — investigators are establishing other possible facts of criminal activity. Procedural management in the case is carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
