The State Audit Service exposed the scheme of privatization of service apartments from the NAU
According to the auditors, a scheme was repeatedly used in this process, according to which a person was enrolled for a job at NAU as a janitor, and then privatized an apartment and was fired.

Employees of the State Audit Service of Ukraine, based on the results of the audit, exposed a scheme to remove official housing from the National Aviation University with its subsequent privatization. About this reported press service of the State Audit Service.
“Disregarding the requirements of the current legislation and its own Charter, the management of NAU removed 32 apartments from the educational institution in the city of Kyiv (with an estimated value of UAH 26.4 million), which were later privatized,” the message reads.
The auditors emphasize that in this process, a scheme was used several times, according to which a person was recruited to work at NAU as a janitor (10 such facts are known), received official housing as a priority, without the presence of documents that would substantiate such a need, and after that – within one or two years, she privatized an apartment, after which she resigned.
“Individual apartments from these 10 were sold almost immediately after privatization,” the press service added.
The auditors told about one of the cases of removal of official housing from the balance sheet of the university. In particular, in April 2021, one woman received the position of janitor. The very next day, she had a certificate-conclusion about the importance of these labor relations for ensuring the normal operation of the university.
After 75 days from the moment of employment, the members of the NAU Housing Commission decided to provide her office space – a two-room apartment with a total area of 67.2 square meters. m in the house on the street Mykhailo Donets. Taking into account the decision of the NAU Housing Commission (from 28.06.2022), the request of the rector of the university (from 29.06.2022), the order of the Solomyanska RDA in the city of Kyiv (from 22.07.2022), the apartment was removed from the office.
Later, the woman received permission from the NAU Housing Commission to privatize housing, which was privatized in October 2023.
“It is worth noting that on the metropolitan real estate market, apartments of this size on Mykhailo Donts Street cost an average of 130,000 USD”, – added in the press service.
Commenting on this situation, the head of the State Audit Service of Ukraine, Alla Basalayeva, said that the auditors do not have the authority to find out the motives of the participants of such a scheme. Investigative bodies should deal with this, in connection with which all materials have already been handed over to law enforcement officers.
