The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved changes introducing mandatory photo-fixation of wood during its transportation. This decision is aimed at preventing abuse and shadow timber market.

From now on, the electronic timber accounting system will generate a consignment note for timber only after uploading photos of the timber truck with timber from four angles. This will allow you to track the movement of wood to its destination and make it impossible to change the load during transportation.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Ruslan Strelets, emphasized that photofixation is a unique identifier for each batch of wood, which makes it impossible to reuse TTN. In addition, information about TTN is open and available for verification on the website of SE “LIAC”.
It is noted that this step is part of the large-scale digitalization of the forest industry, and the experience of photo-fixation is borrowed from Romania. According to the minister, this decision will prevent another type of falsification in the forest industry.
We would like to remind you that law enforcement agencies are actively investigating abuses in state forest farms, and many cases were initiated thanks to internal security checks of the State Enterprise “Lisa Ukrainy”.
