Company of former NSDC secretary’s granddaughter avoids paying UAH 44.3 million in taxes
The company, owned by the granddaughter of former NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, is under investigation for tax evasion worth UAH 44.3 million. The company’s director was prosecuted in a criminal case opened by the BES, 368.media reports, citing a ruling by the Solomyansky District Court under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The company in question is Agroenergoinvest, in which until recently 30% of the capital belonged to Anastasia Danilova, the granddaughter of the former secretary, who studied at the Kyiv National University. In 2022, Agroenergoinvest opened a logistics hub in Chop (Zakarpattia region), which ensures that wagons can be changed from Ukrainian to European gauge. Her father is the chief operating officer of the group of companies to which this company belongs.
During the war, the company made a lot of money in the grain business, but faced claims from the BES and the SBU, which were investigating possible fraud related to the grain corridor. The case was opened in June, a suspect was found, and the court issued a decision in October.
Interestingly, on 9 May 2024, Anastasia Danilova withdrew from the company’s founders. Viktor Cherednichenko, the commercial director of Agroenergoinvest and the new owner of the company, who was appointed to the position on 31 January this year, was suspected. According to the BES, Cherednichenko did not include in the company’s income the value of soybeans received free of charge, which resulted in the failure to pay income tax of UAH 44.26 million for the first quarter of 2024.
However, on 20 June, the company paid compensation to the state for Cherednichenko in the amount of UAH 11.34 million. The court released Cherednichenko from criminal liability and the case was closed.
