“The Ukrainian military must learn to accept the realities of a deadly struggle, not to be afraid of the enemy and look him straight in the eye”: Valeriy Zaluzhnyi made a powerful speech

Valery Zaluzhnyi, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and now Ukraine’s Ambassador to Great Britain, delivered a powerful speech at a secret training base in East England where Ukrainian military personnel are trained. He appealed to the soldiers to prepare for the harshest conditions of war and to act without hesitation. This is reported by publications The Times and The Sun.

During the speech, Zaluzhny emphasized the need not to be afraid of the enemy and look him straight in the eye. He urged the soldiers to destroy the enemy without hesitation, acting quickly and decisively. According to Zaluzhny, this is the only way to protect Ukraine, which has only one chance for survival, and this chance depends on each military person.

He noted that the war is becoming more and more brutal, and therefore the Ukrainian military must learn to accept the realities of mortal combat. He warned soldiers about the need to act proactively, stressing that protecting their fellow soldiers depends on their ability to react faster than the enemy.

During the visit, Zaluzhny observed the training of the Ukrainian military, which was preparing for real combat conditions. The exercises included practicing trench defenses reminiscent of World War I conditions, as well as responding to drone attacks that dropped symbolic grenades.

The training took place as part of Operation “Interflex” — a British initiative to prepare the Ukrainian military for the realities of modern warfare. Soldiers master not only combat strategies, but also methods of urban warfare. This provides them with the necessary skills to deal with the conditions they face on the battlefield.
