The Ukrainian Red Cross has opened more than 16 thousand cases of missing persons

The Ukrainian Red Cross (UCHR) has opened more than 16,000 missing persons cases. About this reported press service of the organization.

“As of now, the Ukrainian Red Cross has opened 16,190 wanted cases. Currently, work on 1,669 cases has been completed, 1,148 of them have a positive result. Work on 14,521 cases continues.” – says the message.

Employees and volunteers of the UChH Search Service conduct initial interviews with applicants, draw up applications, accompany families who have opened cases, and maintain constant contact with them. In addition, the organization provides psychosocial support, cooperates with state structures responsible for searching for missing persons, organizes social events and helps vulnerable families humanitarian and financial. This activity is supported by the British Red Cross.

“Within the framework of humanitarian support for families who opened a search case in our organization, 3,647 families from among vulnerable categories received humanitarian aid.” – noted in UChH.

To open a search case, it is necessary to contact the hotline of the Ukrainian Red Cross at the number 0 800 332 656 or write to the e-mail address: rfl@redcross.org.ua. When applying, you should indicate the essence of the question, the name of the person you are looking for, your own contact information and a phone number for feedback.

The Ukrainian Red Cross implements this activity in accordance with its special mandate established by the Geneva Conventions, their additional protocols and international treaties ratified by Ukraine. The Law “On the Red Cross Society of Ukraine” defines it as an auxiliary structure to state authorities in humanitarian issues during war, peacetime, natural disasters and emergency situations.

We will remind that as of February of this year, the Register of missing persons under special circumstances includes 62,948 cases.
