Stefanchuk assured that the government will not lower the mobilization age

The Government of Ukraine does not plan to consider further lowering of the mobilization age. The main priority remains the victory in the war and the preservation of Ukrainian statehood, stated Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada will not consider new initiatives to reduce the conscription age. He reminded that the parliament has already decided to lower the mobilization age from 27 to 25, and now citizens can voluntarily sign contracts with the Armed Forces to participate in the defense of the country.

Stefanchuk emphasized that further lowering of the conscription age is not planned because, according to him, it is necessary to think not only about the current situation, but also about the future of the country.

“The “golden fund” of Ukraine, who are now between 0 and 18 years old, they will rebuild the country after the victory.” he emphasized.

According to him, the Ukrainian military is fighting for the sake of these young generations, so that they have a chance to live and develop their state in peace.

“I think that the parliament will not return to this issue – about lowering the age of mobilization”Stefanchuk added.

We will remind that in April 2024, a law was signed, which provides for lowering the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 years.
