The United States and Japan signed an agreement to strengthen nuclear deterrence

The US and Japanese governments have adopted new Guidelines for Enhanced Deterrence to strengthen security cooperation in response to growing strategic and nuclear threats in the Asia-Pacific region. About this reported in the Pentagon.

The document is aimed at maintaining stability in the region and preventing possible conflicts. It was developed as part of the Enhanced Deterrence Dialogue, the main objective of which is to improve consultation between allies, improve communication and introduce new strategic response mechanisms.

As part of the new principles, it is envisaged to strengthen the defense potential of the United States with the participation of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, improve strategic communications to counter threats, and also jointly develop and use the latest defense technologies.

Amid the growing risk of conflict caused by the nuclear and missile activities of China and North Korea, these guidelines aim to strengthen the US-Japan alliance, which is a key factor in regional stability.

Allies stressed that they will continue to work on building deterrence mechanisms to guarantee peace and security. This decision reflects the seriousness of the intentions of both countries in response to modern security challenges.
