The US will provide Ukraine with air defense equipment worth $180 million

The US Defense Cooperation Agency has announced its intention to provide $180 million worth of air defense equipment to Ukraine. There was information about it made public in a press release on the agency’s official website.
It is clarified that the aid does not include basic combat equipment. In return, Ukraine will receive modifications, maintenance, spare parts, consumables, accessories, repair and return support, personnel training, training aids, engineering, technical and logistical support from the US government and private contractors, as well as other logistical elements and programmatic support.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by enhancing the security of a partner nation that is the driving force behind political stability and economic progress in Europe.” – says the press release.
The agency did not specify who exactly will finance the transfer of this aid package to Ukraine.
It will be recalled that on July 23, the US State Department approved the sale of two packages of military aid to Ukraine. The first includes HAWK Phase III anti-aircraft missile systems along with maintenance, and the second involves the transfer of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and their repairs.
