US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the administration of President Donald Trump expects from Russia clear signals of readiness to end the war, but does not intend to wait for it indefinitely. Rubio did not give a specific time frame for when an agreement could be reached, but stressed that realistic terms must be offered for a ceasefire.
“If you’re interested in peace, you stop fighting. And you put forward the terms on which you’re willing to end the war, and they have to be reasonable terms, right? Not crazy stuff. If you’re interested in peace, you do it. If you’re not interested in peace, you stall, you make excuses, you stall.”, he added.
The State Secretary also noted that a large-scale offensive by Russia will be a clear indication of its reluctance to end the war.
