The Verkhovna Rada adopted bills on customs benefits for manufacturers of fiber-optic drones

On June 4, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft laws No. 13305 and No. 13306, which provide for tax and customs benefits for manufacturers of fiber-optic drones. About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
“The Council supported our and Roman Kostenko’s draft laws #13305 and 13306 on tax and customs benefits for manufacturers of drones controlled via fiber optic cable. In general – 302 and 303”, – the message says.
Draft Law No. 13306 provides for exemption from payment of VAT during the import into the customs territory of Ukraine of optical fibers, fiber optic bundles and other fiber optic cables used for defense and security purposes during the period of martial law. At the same time, draft law No. 13305 proposes the abolition of import duty on the same goods.
“These legislative initiatives provide for the exemption from taxation with customs payments of optical fiber for the production of drones”, – added Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.
He believes that this decision will contribute to the creation of conditions for the active development and production of unmanned systems using optical cable.
We will remind, at the end of 2024, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, admitted that the use of FPV drones with fiber optic control by the Russian troops is a serious problem that will have to be solved next year.
