“The West wants to bring the Russians to their knees”: Fico accused the international community of prolonging the war in Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed the opinion that the war in Ukraine continues allegedly because of the West’s desire to “bring the Russians to their knees.” About this informs edition of Pravda.
Fico described the Russian-Ukrainian conflict as “a military clash where Slavs are being killed, and Europe is supporting this killing.” He repeated his position that this conflict “cannot be resolved by military means.” At the same time, the Slovak prime minister expressed support for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, but said that while he heads the government, Slovakia “will never agree to Ukraine’s membership in NATO.”
Fico also announced his desire to visit Moscow in 2025 to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. He urged to avoid “Russophobia” and explained that he wanted to “thank the liberators” because, according to him, “freedom came to Slovakia from the east.”
In addition, the prime minister criticized the European Union for imposing tariffs on Chinese electric cars, stressing that China and Europe have common interests and should work together. He announced his visit to China, scheduled for late October or early November.
Fico previously stated his desire to restore “normal” relations with Russia if the war in Ukraine ends during his premiership, and believes that the European Union allegedly needs cooperation with Russia. He also previously refused to provide military aid to Ukraine, claiming that “Nazis” were fighting on Ukraine’s side.
