The White House outlines the main goals of Biden’s visit to Germany

US President Joe Biden has arrived in Germany, where meetings are planned with the country’s leadership and leaders of other European states. The White House announced the visit, emphasizing its importance in strengthening bilateral relations between the United States and Germany.
According to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, Biden will hold a number of key meetings, including with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as well as discuss current issues with leaders of other European countries.
“This is an important chance to thank the German people and the German government for their support as NATO allies – and NATO is now stronger, more relevant, more than ever before – and also to thank them for their support of Ukraine as Ukraine continues to fight for its sovereignty and independence against Russian aggression”, – emphasized Kirby.
He also added that Biden plans to discuss common challenges such as the threat of terrorism and other transnational issues facing the US and Germany.
The visit is Biden’s second to Germany during his presidency, but his first official state visit. Biden made his first visit in 2022, when he participated in the G7 summit in Bavaria.
It will be recalled that initially Biden’s trip was postponed due to Hurricane Milton, which was approaching Florida. In addition, it was previously reported that the meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format, scheduled for October 12 in Germany, was postponed to another date.
