They inflicted 200 blows with a crowbar and filmed it on the phone: three Kharkiv residents will go to trial for contract murder

Three residents of Kharkiv will stand trial for contract murder. According to the prosecutor’s office, in March 2024, two suspects committed the murder of a 34-year-old man in a wooded area near Rudnychna Street (Osnovy district), recording this terrible act on a mobile phone.

The victim was beaten at least 200 times with a metal crowbar and a wooden bat. The man died on the spot from his injuries.

The police quickly arrested the suspects in the murder. They turned out to be a 33-year-old man, who had previously been convicted several times, and a 42-year-old resident of the village of Murafa.

The investigation established that the 33-year-old man was approached by his old acquaintance with a request to get rid of a person who, according to him, owed him a significant amount of money. In exchange for the murder, the acquaintance promised a reward.

Realizing that he would not be able to cope with such a task, the 33-year-old suspect contacted his friend, who is serving a sentence in the Kharkiv pre-trial detention center. He agreed to help in the organization of the crime remotely. He found another perpetrator – a 42-year-old resident of the village of Murafa, who became an accomplice in the commission of this crime.

At the moment, all three suspects are in custody. The Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the Chervonozavodsky Court an indictment on the charge of intentional murder with particular cruelty, by order, with selfish motives and with the prior conspiracy of a group of persons (paragraphs 4, 6, 11, 12 of part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Perpetrators face the maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
