The court arrested a participant in the scheme to illegally transport a People’s Deputy across the border
The Kyiv District Court of the city of Odesa chose a preventive measure for one of the participants in the organization of the illegal transportation of a people’s deputy across the state border. The suspect was taken into custody for two months with the possibility of bail in the amount of 5 million hryvnias. About this informs State Bureau of Investigation.
It is worth noting that on August 23, 2024, a people’s deputy, who is suspected of attacks on citizens, illegally crossed the border of Ukraine with Moldova in the area of the checkpoint “Pavlivka”. According to the investigation, he was assisted by three accomplices. All of them have now been notified of suspicion of facilitating the illegal smuggling of persons across the state border.
Two suspects, including the organizer, fled Ukraine, and one of the suspects was detained. He monitored the border post and informed his accomplices about the patrols.
The sanction of the article provides up to 7 years of imprisonment. Management of procedural actions is carried out by the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Southern region.
