Three NABU employees were reported suspected of committing a road accident that resulted in injuries to the victims

Based on the materials of the State Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported on the suspicion of three NABU employees involved in traffic accidents that resulted in mutilation of the victims.
In one of the cases in Kyiv, one of the law enforcement officers, leaving the secondary road, did not give priority in traffic and collided with a car moving on the main road. After the collision, his car left the roadway and hit a pedestrian. The victim received serious injuries, due to which his left leg was amputated.
Another incident occurred on 61 km of the Kyiv-Odesa highway. During the overtaking maneuver, another Bureau employee lost control, which led to the car leaving the road, overturning and colliding with the gas station building. As a result, the passenger suffered serious injuries — multiple fractures, a ruptured spleen, and a brain contusion.
In the third situation, a NABU service car ran over a pedestrian crossing the road at a green traffic light at a controlled intersection in Kyiv. The victim received moderate injuries.
According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, all three persons were notified of suspicion for violating traffic rules that caused bodily harm (Part 2 of Article 286 and Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, the issue of precautionary measures is being resolved. The prosecutor’s office intends to apply for custody of at least two of the defendants. If found guilty, they face up to eight years in prison. Procedural management is carried out by the prosecutor’s offices of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
