Trump refuses to debate with Harris: “I’m leading in the polls”

At the end of July, the Republican expressed readiness for a debate with his opponent.

Former President of the United States and candidate for this position from the Republicans Donald Trump refused to debate with the vice president and candidate for the Democrats Kamala Harris. Trump said this in the Fox Business program, informs Bloomberg.

The politician argued for his refusal by the fact that he is leading in the polls, as well as by the fact that American voters already know the positions of the Republican and Democratic candidates.

“Why should I have a debate? I’m leading in the polls and everyone knows her, everyone knows me.”, Trump said.

Bloomberg reports that Trump’s campaign had to change its strategy after he faced a new challenger just three months before Election Day. At the same time, Kamala Harris inspired Democrats and reached key groups of voters, in particular, black voters and young people.

The next debate between the Republican and Democratic candidates is scheduled for July 10. At the end of last month, Trump said that he was ready to hold a debate with Kamala Harris.

We will remind that on August 2, Harris collected enough votes of delegates from the Democratic Party in order to become the presidential candidate of the Democrats. She will officially accept the nomination next week.
