Trump to appoint a woman as White House chief of staff for the first time in US history

Susan Wiles will become the White House Chief of Staff during Donald Trump’s second term in office, making her the first woman to hold this position in US history. She previously worked as an adviser to Trump during his first term. This was stated in a statement by Trump’s vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.

The president chose a person close to his family, with whom he has worked before and who knows his style of work well. The New York Post notes that Wiles has helped Trump with legal matters, including criminal and civil cases.

Susie is strong, smart, innovative, admired and respected. I have no doubt that she will make the country proud,’ Trump said in a statement.

The White House Chief of Staff is responsible for managing personnel, controlling access to the Oval Office and information flows, and negotiating on behalf of the president with Congress, executive branch officials and non-governmental political organisations.
