U.S. Attorney General Candidate Gaetz Charged With Sex With Minor, Drugs And Crimes

The Ethics Committee of the US House of Representatives has accused Matt Goetz, a former congressman from Florida and a candidate for the post of US attorney general, of having sex with a 17-year-old girl, paying for sex, and using illegal drugs. About this informs Financial Times.
The committee provides substantial evidence that Goetz violated not only House rules but also state and federal laws during his tenure. IN reports The committee was told that his actions included prostitution, sexual harassment, drug use, receiving unauthorized gifts and obstructing Congress.
The investigative team gathered evidence based on testimony, text messages, receipts from the payment services Venmo and PayPal. From 2017 to 2020, Goetz was found to have paid more than $90,000 to 12 women, allegedly related to sexual activity or drug use.
One of the most serious episodes concerns his relationship with a 17-year-old schoolgirl. The girl stated that she received $400 from Goetz after intercourse, which she took as payment for sex. She added that she did not disclose her age, and the congressman did not ask her about it either. Getz himself denied this episode in his written responses to the committee.
The committee also cites evidence of Goetz’s use of banned substances, which he described in the reports as “party favors,” “vitamins” or “buns.” Even a fake email address was created from his office to purchase marijuana. Getz himself rejects these accusations.
