UAH 479.5 million is state grant support for horticulture: walnut orchards absorbed 35% of grants

Financing of the State grant support program for 2025, which provides for the creation and development of horticulture, berry growing, viticulture, as well as greenhouse farms, has been determined in the amount of 479.5 million hryvnias. Tetyana Kosyanchuk, head of the horticulture sector of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported, that these funds are distributed between two directions as follows: 320.5 million hryvnias will be allocated to the development of horticulture, berry growing and viticulture, and 159 million hryvnias are planned for the creation or development of greenhouse farms.
As the representative of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted, since the beginning of the implementation of the program in 2022, the ministry has made 259 positive decisions on granting grants for a total amount of 1.27 billion hryvnias. 3,397 hectares of gardens, berry orchards and vineyards have already been planted with the received grant funds. At the same time, the area of walnut plantations is 1,185 hectares, which is 35% of all planted crops under this program.
Separately, she noted that it was nut growers who received a significant share of support — their share accounted for 89 grants, or 34% of the total number of decisions made. The total amount of support for the nut sector amounted to 299.9 million hryvnias, of which 77 farms have already received financing in the amount of 245.8 million hryvnias.
Kyiv, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions are among the five regions that submitted the most applications for planting nut orchards.
