Ukraine and Russia held another prisoner exchange within the framework of the Istanbul Agreements (video)

Ukraine and Russia conducted another exchange of prisoners, which was agreed upon during the second round of negotiations in Istanbul on June 2. About this reported President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“We continue the exchanges, one more stage. Today, the soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Service are returning. Most of them have been in captivity since the 22nd year. We are doing everything to find everyone, check the information on each surname. We have to return all our people home. Thank you to everyone who helps us in this.” – says the message.
Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War clarified, that Ukraine returned the defenders of Mariupol and the National Guardsmen who guarded the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Officers are among those dismissed. The youngest soldier is 24 years old – he was captured at the age of 21 in Mariupol. The oldest is 62. In general, Ukrainians who defended the country in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Kherson, Kyiv and Sumy directions are returning home.
We will remind, on June 2, during the negotiations in Istanbul, the representatives of Ukraine and Russia agreed on an exchange in the format of 1000 for 1000. In addition, the parties agreed on another exchange – 200 for 200 prisoners of war. This is the second time that the exchange is held in this format. An agreement was also reached on the repatriation of 6,000 bodies of dead soldiers from each side.
