On February 13, bilateral meetings between representatives of Ukraine and the European Commission began in Brussels as part of the official screening of compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU norms in the field of financial services. About this informs “Government Portal”.

These meetings are an integral part of the negotiation process regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. Representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund, and the Government Office for the Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration are involved in the event from the Ukrainian side. Representatives work both offline and online.

The Ukrainian representatives noted the commitment to bring the national legislation into compliance with the EU law, as well as the unwavering commitment of our state to European integration.

During February 13-14, representatives of Ukraine will present reports covering the following topics: regulation of banking and financial conglomerates, infrastructure of financial markets, securities markets and investment services, insurance, sustainable financing and digital technologies.

It will be recalled that European legislation in the field of financial services establishes rules for the establishment, operation and supervision of financial institutions, covering the banking sphere, insurance, supplementary pension provision, investment services and securities markets.
