Ukraine’s public debt increased by 103 billion hryvnias: Ministry of Finance

The state and state-guaranteed debt of Ukraine increased by UAH 103.48 billion and reached UAH 7,123.25 billion. About this reported Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
As of March 31, 2025, the total amount of state and guaranteed debt was UAH 7,123.25 billion, which is equivalent to USD 171.73 billion. During March, debt growth in hryvnia equivalent amounted to UAH 103.48 billion, and in dollar terms – 2.64 billion US dollars.
Of this amount, the state and guaranteed external debt amounted to UAH 5,211.71 billion, which is 73.16% of the total, or 125.65 billion US dollars. The domestic debt, respectively, amounted to 1,911.54 billion UAH, or 26.83%, which is equal to 46.08 billion US dollars.
The volume of the state debt of Ukraine amounted to 6,852.22 billion UAH, or 165.20 billion US dollars, which is equal to 96.19% of the total amount of debt. The share of state-guaranteed debt was UAH 271.03 billion, or USD 6.53 billion — 3.81% of the total amount.
According to the forecast of the International Monetary Fund, this year the total public debt of Ukraine will increase to 110% of the gross domestic product. In 2024, after two years of full-scale war with Russia, the national debt was 89.8% of GDP. In 2025, this indicator is expected to exceed the 100% mark for the first time, reaching a level of 110%.
