Ukraine is already receiving data on foreign accounts of citizens: Hetmantsev

Ukraine began to receive information about the foreign accounts of its citizens within the framework of the international agreement on the automatic exchange of tax information. This was announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy.
For in words Hetmantseva, currently we are talking about 500,000 accounts with amounts exceeding 200,000 euros. These data will allow the Ukrainian state to strengthen control over tax transparency of citizens who own significant assets abroad.
When asked by journalists about further steps that can be applied to the owners of such accounts, Hetmantsev noted that this issue is within the competence of the Tax Service.
“In the future, the Tax Service will deal with these issues. This is its responsibility.” he declared.
We will remind, according to People’s Deputy Nina Yuzhanina, a member of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, the increase in taxes introduced on December 1 may affect the incomes of Ukrainians. In particular, the increase in the military levy to 5% is one of the key changes in the new legislation.
This decision, according to forecasts, will reduce the legal income of citizens, although it is aimed at strengthening the financial support of the state budget in wartime conditions.
Thus, Ukraine is strengthening control over the financial flows of its citizens abroad and at the same time introducing new tax initiatives aimed at supporting the state treasury.
