Military explains why Lyashko became a battalion commander in the Armed Forces

Oleg Lyashko, leader of the “Radical Party” and former People’s Deputy, is currently appointed commander of the unmanned control systems battalion in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the Armed Forces, this decision was made because of his achievements during his service.
U statement The 11th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of Ukraine says that the appointment took place based on the request of the brigade commander, taking into account the personnel transfer plan. Lyashko, who previously held the position of lieutenant, demonstrated deep knowledge and efficiency in the use of unmanned systems, understanding their importance on the battlefield.
Representatives of the 63rd OMBr emphasized that Lyashko was appointed due to his previous successes in the field of UAVs, which contributed to the destruction of a significant amount of enemy equipment and enemy forces. In the fall, the battalion in which Lyashko serves was among the top 10 most effective units of the Armed Forces in the use of drones to defeat the enemy.
“Taking into account the above, the command of the 63rd OMBR and the 11th Army Corps made an appropriate personnel decision regarding the appointment of Lieutenant Oleg Lyashko to the position of commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade”, says the statement.
We will remind that in 2022, Oleg Lyashko, a former deputy of several convocations of the Verkhovna Rada, voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, starting his service as an ordinary soldier.
