Ukraine is considering shooting down Russian Kedr missiles with available means

The Ukrainian Air Force is considering the possibility of shooting down Russian Kedr ballistic missiles with the help of available means after their division into six separate combat units. Such a statement did in the security and defense sector of Ukraine.
The “Kedr” missile complex is a new development of the Russian army, which is based on the modernization of Soviet equipment. Although these missiles are not intercontinental, they can be used as carriers of nuclear weapons. After gaining altitude, the missile is divided into six combat units, which makes it difficult to intercept. The most likely way to destroy such missiles is to destroy individual blocks, and not a complete missile.
As it became known from a source in the Armed Forces, Ukraine is negotiating with the United States to obtain weapons capable of intercepting intercontinental missiles. Among the possible options discussed are the modernization of Patriot systems or the provision of Aegis or THAAD systems.
The use of Kedr missiles against Ukraine is probably aimed at intimidating the population and Europeans, as well as creating pressure on the United States to negotiate an end to the war. Although the Kedr missile did not carry a nuclear weapon during the strike on the Dnipro, the Ukrainian military believes that Russia may continue to intimidate by threatening to use tactical nuclear weapons. It is obvious that the use of such weapons will be the Kremlin leader’s worst mistake, which will inevitably lead to his defeat.
