Ukraine entered the top ten world producers of fruit and vegetable products, overtaking Spain. About this informs EastFruit.
Egypt, Indonesia and Ukraine were able to overtake Spain in the ranking based on the volume of fruit and vegetable production. Over the past three years, the volume of fruit and vegetable production in Spain has decreased by 10%, falling from 31 million tons to 28 million tons.
According to the statistics of the UN Department of Agriculture and Food, China (781.5 million tons), India (221 million tons) and the USA (68.7 million tons) are the leaders among the producing countries. Ukraine took tenth place with an indicator of 30 million tons.
Among the most famous producers of vegetables in Ukraine, VPC-Agro stands out, a leading company specializing in the cultivation and long-term storage of vegetable products, including potatoes, carrots, beets, onions and sweet corn.
LLC “Southern Agricultural Export Company” operates mainly in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions and is engaged in the cultivation of grain, leguminous, oilseed, fruit and vegetable and melon crops. It also actively works in the fields of animal husbandry and fish farming, selling its products both on domestic and international markets.
The “Ovochi Podillia” farm is one of the largest producers of vegetables and also grows cereals, legumes, melons, root crops and tubers. In addition, the farm breeds cattle, buffaloes and pigs.
