Ukraine’s accession to NATO will lead to the outbreak of World War III: Siyarto

Ukraine’s accession to NATO could provoke the third world war, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijártó, on October 9 after the meeting of the Hungarian-Serbian Joint Economic Committee. As informs edition of Index, Sijarto explained that such a threat arises because of the principle of collective defense enshrined in the NATO Charter.
“I believe that everyone who thinks about this issue with common sense does not want to cause this danger. Therefore, Hungary’s position is clear: Ukraine’s accession to NATO is impossible.”, – Sijarto stressed.
He also noted that the majority of foreign ministers of NATO countries share this point of view, but voice it only during closed negotiations.
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, expressed a similar position, stating that Ukraine’s joining the Alliance could lead to a global conflict, therefore, Slovakia is against Ukraine’s membership in NATO.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously confirmed that receiving an invitation to NATO is part of Ukraine’s victory plan.
