Trump expects to renew agreement with Ukraine on rare earth minerals

US President Donald Trump announced his intention to renew the agreement with Ukraine on rare earth minerals. About this informs CNN.

“Yes, I think I will restore this agreement, you know, we’ll see what happens, but I will restore it, otherwise things will not make Volodymyr Zelenskyi very happy. And look, it’s election time.” Trump said.

At the same time, the American president expressed outrage that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was allegedly treated “rather rudely” during his visit to Kyiv on February 12, where Ukraine refused to sign an agreement on rare earth minerals.

“Scott Bessent did go there and they treated him pretty rudely because basically they told him no, and Zelensky was asleep and couldn’t meet with him. He went there to sign the document and came back empty-handed. They didn’t sign the document.” – emphasized Trump.

He also added that his minister spent many hours traveling to Kyiv by train, which, according to him, is a “dangerous trip.”

It will be recalled that the Trump administration offered Ukraine to hand over 50% of rare earth minerals to the United States and deploy American troops to protect them in exchange for an agreement with Russia to end the war.
