Ukraine’s economy grew by 4.2% in 10 months, but October showed a slowdown

Ukraine’s economy grew by 4.2% in the first 10 months of 2024, but the pace slowed to 1.3% in October from 3.8% in September. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Economy.
In the first ten months of 2024, Ukraine’s GDP grew by 4.2%, with transport, construction, and manufacturing becoming the main driving factors.
“The construction industry is growing due to recovery programs and increased demand for construction work. The stable functioning of the grain corridor supports the development of the transport sector. The manufacturing industry, in particular the defense sector, is actively developing due to the high demand for its products.” – said Oleksiy Sobolev, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
At the same time, a decline was recorded in agriculture, caused by the early completion of the harvest, as farmers had already harvested the main crops by October.
For example, in September, GDP grew by 3.8%, while for the nine-month period of 2024, this indicator increased by 22.4%.
In the second quarter of 2024, the growth of Ukraine’s economy slowed to 3.7%.
