Ukraine will create a new data protection mechanism for state registers

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine plans to introduce a new mechanism for data protection, which will become a kind of “Pentagon of state registers”. The initiative appeared in response to a large-scale cyber attack carried out by Russian hackers in December last year. About this reported Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration — Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna.

“We provide recovery on sites that have a proper mechanism to protect relevant data from possible attacks. Also, a plan to create a kind of “Pentagon” for state registers has already been developed, which we expect will be quickly implemented. The relevant team is already working on launching this initiative.”, – emphasized Stefanyshina.

The official noted that Russia tried to destabilize the work of Ukraine by carrying out a large-scale cyber attack.

“This goal was not achieved, for which I personally thank the specialists of the Ministry of Justice. However, cyber warfare is being waged 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As long as there is a full-scale war with Russia, the cyber war will continue as well.” – said Stefanishyna.
