Ukraine will receive €300 million from the Netherlands for reconstruction

The Netherlands will allocate €300 million to support and restore Ukraine in 2025-2026. About this reported Minister of Foreign Affairs Kaspar Veldkamp during the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine (URC), held on July 10 in Rome.

This amount is part of more than €500 million reserved by the Dutch government for non-military aid to Ukraine for 2025-2026 (€252 million each year). Previously, €200 million had already been distributed, and now the directions for using the balance have been clarified.

€30 million will be used to support Dutch companies that will participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction projects within the framework of the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF) program. €52 million will go to the restoration of energy infrastructure and water supply systems. €4 million will be invested in the construction of a new wing of a children’s hospital in Lviv in cooperation with the Princess Maxima Children’s Oncology Center in Utrecht. Another €20 million (€10 million annually) is earmarked for strengthening Ukraine’s cyber defense.

“Supporting the economy and society of Ukraine helps it to endure the struggle. This is another front. Our financial and economic assistance contributes to a faster recovery and reduces future reconstruction costs.” Veldkamp said.

It will be recalled that in September 2024, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, announced the provision of a €200 million aid package to Ukraine. Those funds were directed mainly to the protection and restoration of the energy infrastructure, as well as to humanitarian support.
