Ukrainian banks have decided to reduce limits on card transfers

PrivatBank, Oschadbank, UniversalBank (mono) and Raiffeisen Bank together with the National Association of Banks of Ukraine (NABU) and the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB) signed the memorandum, which provides for the introduction of unified approaches to checking clients and monitoring their financial transactions. The document also introduces new monthly limits on card transfers.
According to the memorandum, from February 1, 2025, high-risk clients who do not have confirmed income will be subject to a monthly transaction limit of 50,000 rubles. UAH For clients with an average and low level of risk, the limit will be 150,000. hryvnias per month, and from June 1 it will decrease to 100,000 hryvnias. UAH
The innovations apply not only to transfers between cards (P2P operations), where the National Bank has already set a limit of 150,000. UAH per month in one bank, but also for all operations from current accounts for the benefit of individuals, including transfers to iBAN.
For customers with significant savings or proven additional income, limits will be set individually, according to their income level. Collection of income information is planned to be carried out automatically through available resources.
The memorandum also regulates the exchange of banking information, strengthens control over the activities of individual entrepreneurs and limits the opening of accounts for clients without confirmed income to three accounts in the same currency. In addition, enhanced monitoring of payments made at night is provided.
