Responsibility for wearing military uniforms by civilians will be strengthened in Ukraine

New rules on wearing military uniforms are being introduced in Ukraine. From now on civilians, who appear in public places in military uniform, may be prosecuted.

Consequences for violators:

  • Detention by the military police on the spot.
  • For a day to find out the identity and legality of wearing the uniform.
  • Fine from UAH 2,550 to UAH 3,400 with confiscation of clothing imitating a military uniform.
  • Risk of being targeted by enemy forces in a combat zone.
  • The risk of becoming a victim of crime.
  • The discrediting of servicemen of the Armed Forces and the negative impact on the image of the army.

It is noted that to avoid problems, civilians are advised not to wear military uniforms, even individual items such as a pixelated T-shirt.
