Ukrainian conscripts who are abroad and have not updated their military registration data are threatened with administrative fines and other sanctions

Ukrainian conscripts who are abroad and have not updated their military registration data by July 16 are threatened with administrative fines. In case of non-payment of fines, property or accounts may be seized.

This applies to all conscripted citizens of Ukraine who did not have time to update their military registration data by the specified date. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernogorenko during an interview on the YouTube channel “There is a question”.

“A resolution on an administrative offense is created, which a person must accept and pay a fine”, – said the official.

The General Staff specified that the procedure for issuing fines for non-updated data remains administrative.

“There can be no exceptions. The responsibility remains administrative. It will be a little more difficult for the state to implement it, given that people were forced to leave Ukraine. Such citizens must maintain contact with the state and fulfill their constitutional duties.” – added the deputy minister of defense.

The procedure for updating military registration data

To update military registration data, conscripted citizens who are abroad had to contact Ukrainian consular institutions or fill out the appropriate forms on the official websites of consulates. This process includes providing up-to-date information about your place of residence, contact details and other necessary details.

When submitting updated information, citizens must have with them relevant documents confirming their status as conscripts, as well as documents confirming their current place of residence abroad.

Consequences of non-payment of fines

In case of non-payment of fines for failure to update military registration data, state bodies have the right to impose additional sanctions. This may include seizure of property or bank accounts in Ukraine. If a person does not pay the fine within the prescribed period, he may be blacklisted, which will make it difficult to return to Ukraine or perform other administrative procedures.

Additional measures

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is also considering the possibility of introducing additional measures to ensure the fulfillment of military registration obligations for citizens who are abroad. This may include the creation of special mobile teams that will work in countries with a large number of Ukrainian citizens to facilitate the process of updating data.
