IOM does not expect a repeat of the mass exodus of refugees, as at the beginning of the war

Amy Pope, director general of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), said she does not expect a repeat of the mass exodus of people from Ukraine seen at the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

About this informs Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

I do not expect that we will see an outflow (of people from Ukraine – ed.) at such rates as at the beginning of the war. The flow from Ukraine was distinguished by the number of people leaving the country quickly. It was unprecedented. I don’t think we’ll see a repeat of that“, Pope emphasized during a conversation with the mass media, according to Ukrinform.

She noted that IOM will continue to monitor the situation. At the same time, according to her estimates, most Ukrainians aspire to live in their own country.
