Ukrainian men are more and more brazenly “storming” the border: the DPSU reports on new tactics of evaders and mass detentions

Andrii Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Border Service, reported on the continuation of attempts to illegally cross the border by men of conscription age. He noted that not all detainees are evaders, as some may not be eligible for mobilization.

“Unfortunately, the attempts continue, we record such persons every day. You should not call them evaders, they are primarily violators of the state border. Since some of them may not even fall under the category of mobilization, having an age of less than 25“, said Demchenko.

However, recently there has been a change in the tactics of the organizers of illegal shipping. Demchenko noted that the audacity of their actions is growing, and attempts to cross the border by large groups are increasingly recorded.

Recently, we have seen that the audacity of the actions of the organizers of these criminal groups, who promise them assistance in illegal crossing, is growing. Quite often, larger groups are recorded trying to cross the border at the same time. Yesterday, for example, in the evening in Odesa, our border guard detained a truck, in the trailer of which they found 41 people who were trying to reach the border in this way. This vehicle was detained several kilometers from the border.” – added Demchenko.

Recently, a draft law on economic reservation was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which, according to People’s Deputy Vadym Halychuk, can provide additional mobilization of about 500,000 people. At the same time, People’s Deputy Dmytro Natalukha estimates the mobilization potential of Ukraine at 5-6 million men, but notes that currently the Armed Forces do not need such a number.
