“Diya” is testing an AI assistant that will help with the registration of services
Internal beta testing of the AI assistant is actively underway on the Diya portal, and soon users will be able to order the first service with the help of artificial intelligence. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
“The internal beta testing of the AI assistant on the “Diya” portal is actively ongoing, and soon you will be able to issue the first service with the help of AI. In parallel, we started the development of a national large language model together with Kyivstar, which will help the state and companies create high-quality AI services for Ukrainians.” – says the message.
The LLM is the basis for the work of AI assistants and voice assistants. The Ukrainian model will be created on domestic data, which will allow it to better understand the local context and give more accurate answers than global counterparts.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that the model will be trained, in particular, on the materials of Ukrainian legislation, scientific publications, library resources, as well as on “some closed data”, hromadske reports. It is also possible to use it in the conditions of war — to analyze photos from the battlefield or satellite images.
According to Fedorov, more than ten countries have already started creating their own national language models that can be taught and adapted. He noted that such tools will help protect the information space from the influence of Russian information and psychological operations.
Data processing and storage will take place exclusively in Ukraine, which is strategically important for the use of AI in defense, health care and public administration. Also, a coordinating committee and ethical and technical council will be established under the ministry, which will monitor the safety and quality of the model.
The LLM beta version is scheduled to launch by the end of 2025. After testing, the model will be available to citizens and businesses, providing access to cheaper AI compared to foreign counterparts. At the same time, as Fedorov emphasized, we are not talking about competition with ChatGPT.
