A group of servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully completed the IMAS EOD LEVEL 3+ specialist training course and received the appropriate qualification. The training took place in the certified training center “MAT”, which has been operating in Kosovo since 1999. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.
During the training, the Ukrainian military practiced the disposal of various types of ammunition – ground and air-based, guided projectiles, ammunition with depleted uranium, components of rocket fuel, chemical poisons, as well as aviation bombs of various purposes.
In addition, they exchanged practical experience with specialists-instructors of the training center who participated in similar operations in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, the Balkans and other crisis regions of the world.
“The Russian occupiers are increasingly using the newest types of ammunition, including those prohibited by international conventions, to destroy the civilian population and mine our territories.
In order to effectively defuse these explosive objects, we must constantly improve our theoretical knowledge and practical skills, study the combat experience of other countries and adopt the best practices for the work of demining teams in different conditions and complexity.” – emphasized the head of the Main Department of mine countermeasures, Colonel Oleg Shuvarskyi.
