JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” increased the standard average daily speed of its own freight rolling stock. About this reported the press service of the company.
The company notes that the changes will make it possible to shorten cargo delivery times and reduce customers’ costs for using wagons. The time of transportation will decrease, which will accordingly reduce the cost of their use.
The decision was made based on the results of the analysis of the actual indicators of the movement of freight cars in the first half of 2025. It was found that in some cases the actual speed exceeded the current standards. The updated regulations will be valid until December 31, 2025. The changes concern several types of wagons: grain wagons, tanks, covered wagons, cement wagons, converted specialized warehouses, counter-trailers and fitting platforms.
In particular, new speed standards have been established for fitting platforms:
- domestic and import transportation: wagon or container shipment — 170 km/day (there were 154), route trains — 197 km/day (there were 154);
- export through land checkpoints: all types — 213 km/day (there were 139);
- delivery to near-port stations: wagon departure — 182 km/day (there were 156), route trains — 264 km/day (there were 156).
In general, the average daily speed of this type of rolling stock increased by approximately 38%.
