Kuleba: a new policy regarding Ukrainians abroad is necessary

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, at the first forum of wartime diplomacy, voiced the main seven principles of Ukrainian diplomacy, which must be followed during the war.

Among the principles, the minister mentioned the need to implement a new comprehensive policy and strategy for Ukrainians abroad.

“If we do not change our policy towards Ukrainians abroad, assimilation will happen extremely quickly. I do not belong to those who believe that the majority of those Ukrainians who left will return. I belong to those who believe that we should work with them, that they remain Ukrainians” Kuleba said.

According to him, the strategy also provides for digitalization of consular services and more efficient financing of communities and various programs.

“The president set such a task, we prepared doctrinal and conceptual studies. This is a program, a strategy, we will discuss it with other authorities, because it is a complex task.” – summed up Kuleba.
