“Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to spend UAH 7 million on the purchase of curtains: details

“Ukrzaliznytsia” announced tender for the purchase of sun blinds for passenger cars, within the framework of which it plans to purchase 940 sets of double blinds worth over 7 million hryvnias. These sets provide for the installation of wide and narrow curtains in cars, taking into account functional and aesthetic requirements.
In particular, the cost of one wide solar curtain is 7,550 hryvnias, and a total of 782 units will be purchased. Narrow curtains have a price of 7,000 hryvnias per piece, and their quantity is limited to 158 units. According to the technical characteristics, the products must be made of fire-resistant fabric, which allows the control bar to be fixed at any height level. Special attention is paid to the smooth and quiet operation of the mechanisms, ease of installation and long service life. One curtain should diffuse light, and the other should be made of opaque material. The frame is planned to be made of aluminum profiles.
As noted in “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the cost of the order is based on an analysis of market prices and previous purchases of similar products. The materials that will be used for the manufacture of curtains may have different origins, as their origin is not specified in the tender documents.
The representative of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Artem Veselovsky noted in a conversation with journalists that such curtains can be made even at home, if the technical requirements of the tender are followed.
“Curtains can be made anywhere, even at home, but we focus on market offers. We monitor prices and compare them with last year’s purchases. If suppliers overestimate prices, we check them according to the State Statistics Service or the Ministry of Economy”, — explains Veselovskyi.
According to him, such curtains are purchased annually for new carriages, in particular compartment and reserved seats, and not to replace old ones. The production of 42 new cars is planned for 2024, for which this purchase of curtains is planned.
