US authorities spoke about a new strategy to support Ukraine

The administration of US President Joe Biden has developed a new strategy to support Ukraine, which includes large-scale military aid and the expansion of sanctions against Russia. About this informs The Guardian.

National Security Adviser of the US President Jake Sullivan held a meeting with the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak. During the meeting, he promised that by mid-January 2025, Ukraine would receive “hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles and hundreds of armored vehicles.” The United States also undertook to conduct training of the Ukrainian military outside the country.

In addition, negotiations on the allocation of loans to Ukraine in the amount of 20 billion dollars, secured by income from frozen Russian assets, are almost completed. These measures will be accompanied by new sanctions against Russia that will be introduced in the coming weeks. Their goal is to make it difficult for Russia to maintain its military operations and to strengthen Ukraine’s position in future peace negotiations.

According to the publication, these initiatives of the White House became a key step in helping Kyiv a month before the inauguration of Donald Trump, who can offer a completely different approach to the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and ceasefire.
